Facilitating Groups
Working with groups. There are times in the life of a church that groups in a church come into conflict. The disputes can be over everyday issues like the music at worship, the hiring or firing of staff, budget issues or denominational concerns. These disputes can escalate until the whole church is impacted and each member feels like they need to take sides.
Community groups. There are also times when a local church needs to work with other community groups and individual to achieve a ministry objective. Sometimes local community groups can be resistant to congregational plans for expansion, building projects and ministry projects. When these disputes escalate then they become the focus instead of the ministry goals.
Facilitating resolutions. Facilitators act as neutral third parties to create an environment that gives all parties a clear voice as they work to resolve the dispute. The process builds consensus based on mutual respect and shared problem solving. It is a proven approach that helps even deeply divided groups develop lasting and workable agreements.
Salt Creek Associates are conflict resolution specialists who provide skills based solutions to ongoing and escalating disputes in families, at work and in churches.
