We are stewards. Our children are with us for only a short time. Then they go out on their own. Permissive parenting results in our children living ineffective and directionless lives with few reserves of personal resourcefulness. Authoritarian parenting can leave our children wounded and compliant looking for the next person to follow or obey. The methods of authoritarian parenting can also create resistance, resentment and rebellion.
A better approach. We offer an alternative to both permissive parenting and authoritarian parenting. We demonstrate the benefits of parenting with a nurturing, and coaching techniques. Our methods show parents how to raise self-disciplined, communicative children who are good problem solvers, with enough self-esteem and trust in what they are taught so that they can resist inappropriate influences from their friends in school and elsewhere and make good choices in their lives.
